If its a motorway patrol one , i expect it will be the top of the range one , 4.6 litre or something ....

Whereabouts? Was it one of their silver covert ones? I've seen them on the M55 before now - very sneaky:devil:

When I read this I thought No way, it would need about 500 BHP for that.

Here's the specs for a new 4.6 auto.

Performance open close

Fuel Delivery Injection
BHP 305.0
Torque (lbs feet) 324.5
RPM to which the Torque refers 4000
Maximum Speed 124
Acceleration (0-60) 8.3

And the 3.6 TD

Performance open close

Fuel Delivery Turbo
BHP 272.0
Torque (lbs feet) 472.0
RPM to which the Torque refers 2000
Maximum Speed 124
Acceleration (0-60) 8.6

Strangely similar in all but fuel consumption.

I took the 3.6 V8 turbodiesel up to Scotland a few weeks back. It will go past125mph, 130-135 is reachable with relative ease.

Gave an average of 25mpg over 1000 miles, more than happy considering the speeds and abuse the car got.

I'll have to ask Liz's Dad, he used to be a Motorway Jolly Stopper in Cheshire.

could be one of them overfinch conversions thatt does 140

the latest Range Rover can be had with the supercharged engine from the Jag making around 400 bhp

I bet it's the one that's based at the Tickled Trout junction off the M6 at Preston!
