While an anoymous poll on this my seem innocuous enough, the danger is that it will lead to someone posting a comment such as "I can't believe someone has voted for xxxxxxxxx", which is then likely to spark a politcal debate, and by their very nature these tend to become heated after a while.

Hence why politics and religion (and anything else people tend to feel passionately about) are best not discussed on forums (or at dinner parties!).
