Pop up adverts suddenly appearing

I have had Google ads popping up at the top of the screen for the last couple of hours but only on this site

I haven't downloaded any apps recently and all my settings in Chrome are correct for blocking such adverts.

I seem to remember this happening before. Is anyone else experiencing this?

In my App settings it says that pop ups are controlled by the Website!

I installed Ghostery. It has made no difference.

Interestingly, it seems to have stopped now and I’ve done nothing…

I uninstalled and reinstalled the App. No change.

It is clearly a site issue. I have contacted Admin so hopefully they will be able to sort it.

Back this morning on mine too. Quite annoying. Presumably the site gets revenue from it?

I get them in the upper middle and top of my 'phone screen.

As said I checked the App permissions and it clearly says that these are controlled by the App.

The pop ups are an intrusion and it really does need sorting out ASAP.

Ironically the latest advert is one for an Ad blocker! Is there any news on when this new "feature" may be removed?
