Porsche 996 query

That looks stunning.

Lovely car. It would be an absolute pleasure to drive it. PM me and we can meet up. :D

Regards
Mark

Think again ! I ditched MB two years ago and switched to Porsche. It has been a pleasurable experience so much so I have just taken delivery of another one.

Admittedly you are buying brand new ones Tony. The 996s do have their share of problems.

That looks like Burgess Hill.

For 25 years I bought New Mercedes. It was only in the latter years that MB Bean Counters destroyed the Engineering principles that Mercedes stood for.

I apreciate that Porsche still have some problems but the difference is that if Porsche have a problem they sort it, whilst MB deny, wriggle,Ignore, refuse to respond or hope the problem will go away.

My Son's Carrera S had a problem with the engine management light coming on. Porsche did not muck about. A complete new engine and new anciliaries was supplied and fitted with a loan car whist the work was carried out.

To my way of thinking, Porsche customer service today is how Mercedes Service was 10- 15 years ago. New Mercedes in the past were never cheap, neither was the service. Now that Mercedes has entered the 'Sell cheap, sell volume' market place, the engineering quality, customer service and brand image has gone down the pan.

Yes , the Porsche Dealer is at Burgess Hill and they give the sort of service that I was accustomed to when I bought several new MB cars from Rose & Young at Caterham Surrey.

I could probably give another opinion on Burgess Hill's service standards - however the after sales team are excellent - notably Stephen Ayers who actually used to work for MB.

A gold one Malcolm ? ;)

Any news on this Nick? Hopefully just a sensor which your dad could replace himself - if so I can get a discount on parts.

apparently the diagnosis was a solenoid failure. part is pretty inexpensive so thanks, but easier for the garage to just supply.

the car is at a porsche indy in Belsize Park called Porsche Worx - heard anything about them - good or bad?
