2008 C280 sport
Hi all

Just joined your forum - so hello to all,

Strange thing happened today, went to the local new car supermarket to look at/buy a bmw 325i, but was totally distracted buy a 2008 C280 sport.

I cant remember the last time I had shiny car syndrome, but I just couldnt stop looking at this merc! I neally did the deal on it, but thought I better walk away and do some research - but I'm not having much luck with this model.

I'm a long term diesel driver, but after a recent trip to the states and driving petrol V6/V8's I have the bug again, now, fuel economy is putting me off, hence originally deciding on an 325i efficient dynamics model, when I look at the C280's economy its kind of frightening, yet do-able, this is of course based on the manufacturers figures, which past history tells me are fairly well off the mark.

So first questions is - is there anyone who can give me real world mpg figures on this model, my daily commute is a 26mile round trip 20miles @ 60mph and the rest in stop/start traffic.

Second question, are there any problems with this model that I should look for?

Last question, does anyone know what the service intervals are?

Many thanks in advance!

Maybe not the response that you would have expected on a MB forum.

Have you researched the BMW 3 litre efficient dynamics engine properly? In particular injector and coil issues. The mpg figures on the BMW ED range will be nowhere near what they quote.

Oh, have a look into high pressure fuel pumpproblems with the Beemer too.

You need the new model 325i as that is a 4cyl turbo... that will do the economy.

The c280 will be pretty thirsty... the new engine in the 350 coupe is much much better.
