Hello all, I have looked at many responses on a previous thread relating to this but am unsure as to whether a new response would alert any of the people subscribed to the thread as it was so long ago

Anyway, excuses over - I've recently traded my 52 plate C180k Coupe for the facelift version on an 04. I was the third owner of my 52, but have become the 6th of the 04 plate. The car has done average miles with full MBSH, and looks impeccable. Just looking for opinions on whether the fact its full MBSH means I neednt worry about the amount of owners? I won't be selling it on for at least two years, and I've had a different car myself every year since passing my test so maybe I'm just worrying for nothing.

Any responses appreciated.

Number of keepers doesn't really matter to me. Sometimes good reasons exist for it changing keepers more times than you'd expect. For example, the CLK I recently purchased was owned by the same family since 2004 (Father, Son and finally Brother-in-law). Also cars with bigger engines tend to clock up the keepers, especially when the new keeper doesn't bank on time at the pump! I think if it has a decent service history, the mileage is correct and it looks and drives like a car that's been looked after, I say go for it!

Oh I've already gone for it:) just looking for people to confirm I did the right thing, and ignore the ones that say I didn't...;)

I'm in the same boat, the car I have has a large number of former keepers - even though it's only a 07 plate.

Slightly below average mileage, FMBSH.
Drives like a keeper - guzzles a little bit for my liking, but the power is worth it.

Only slight issue is a bizarre rattling/sliding sound when I open/close the boot which the dealer tried to fix, but it's still there.
If I'm honest with myself it sounds like the high viz light on the tailgate was broken at some time and there's some loose cracked plastic inside there still.

I'd rather have a few careful owners than one that didn't care.

If you already have the car then it is too late to start worrying about it now - worry about something that is actually worth worrying about rather than the number in a box on a bit of paper with V5 written on it :)

Yeah, like that knocking noise and blue smoke coming from the exhaust! :p ;)

Update for anyone who cares, I put 300 miles on it in 3 days in all manner of roads and uses and it drives like a dream, just like I hoped it would, and as per some other posts on here it seems that at least two of those owners were the dealer that took it in part ex.

Now to start enjoying it!

They'll be on as soon as I figure out how to sync my new phone to the computer, and then how to put them on here! Probably both incredibly easy but hey :o

My 2006 W203 C180K behaved perfectly throughout it's 35k miles... I don't have an opinion regarding the number of owners, but the car is good so enjoy!

Some of my previous motorcycles have had lots of owners in very short time frames, bikes more so than cars but fads, changes in circumstances etc all have a bearing. So its not really an issue.
