Private plate quandary?

I currently have................. MAT 8N as a private plate as it's my name.
In the next DVLA auction is...MAY 8N ,now I know it doesn't mean anything to me and I could kind of doctor it,(but I wouldn't) I'm just thinking if I can get it cheap enough it would look good on the other car on the drive


Would it be a :fail or

On a serious note, my pal has just done the same in a kinda sense. His plate his SAD 10, the family name being SADIQ. He has very recently purchased (well I did on his behalf) SAD 1D, just because, like your dilemma, they look good side by side on two cars on the driveway.

There are the famous pair of cars on Chelsea Embankment (I've seen them with my own eyes so it isn't an urban myth) with the registrations 2B and NOT 2B, always parked the right way round on the drive.

I have one on my other car in the format
LNNLLL where L is letter and N is number (same) I am thinking of getting one for my Merc which would be exactly the same letters and numbers but and additional same number.

If you're happy with it then why not.
They look similar and a pair of plates is always neat. Remember with the current system you can't have any plate with less than 7 characters so something like this would be great for the future - something you could hand down to your kids too...
