Private Plate - Should I?

If it was ME64 HOT on that car then I would have seen the point but Y111 HOT makes no real sense.

The plate has value but would probably devalue your Mercedes

That's ok mate, it's all good fun. I've owned a couple of RS Clios as well.

Can totally understand why the 172/182s end up on track. I bought a Clio 172 new in 2003, then ended up owning another ten years later that cost me £800. Brilliant hot hatches in the old fashioned sense.

R5 GTT vs G40 is a cool bit of rivalry though. R5s go for silly money now, I'd imagine the Polo is similar but rarer as far as I can tell! :)

In response to the plate, yeah I've no idea on why the owner picked that of all things. Whether it was just because it looks so obviously like a private plate. I've put it on eBay a couple of times but despite the original cost of the place it's not sold anywhere near.

Y111HOT is like one of those plates that manufacturers make up for photo shoots. All the letters and numbers are the same when reversed, so you can take photos of LHD cars and flip the image to make it RHD, and the registration still looks credible.

Ah...
111 = Nelson
1 eye, 1 leg, 1 arm

No wonder it’s an unlucky number......
