Problems with washer on C180k (05)

Great forum!

Could you please help with a problem i have.

I have a C180K coupe on a 55 plate, it has recently been to the garage for an MOT and failed on the windscreen washer not working correctly, the garage has confirmed the pump and stalk are working correctly and that the fuses are intact.

The garage has also confirmed that this is an intermintant fault because sometime they do work.

Any suggestions other then tracing the pipe to see if they are kinked and checking the nossels for debris?

I presume you have checked that the tank has fluid in?
To use the wipers, the door normally needs to be closed(This is a MB feature so that you do not get wet getting out of the car). This may be the same with the washers ( I have not checked). Often when one takes a MB to a non MB garage for MOT, these little features need to be pointed out to the tester to avoid fails!
Otherwise, as you say check for blocks/kinks/perished pipes, but I think the latter two are unlikely.

Yes have checked all them, was not aware of the door closed thing. Will try that.
I ahve noticed one thing the first function on the wipers if not working anymore, that is as well as the washer.

ensure they arent testing them with the bonnet open.. they wont work.

The stalks can sometimes cause problems as they tiny wires inside them chafe through..
