What is the total cost if you dont mind me asking?

Way too much! Without my discounted family saving scheme with Dave@D Class, its a £7k job. I'm not paying that, but still a fair chunk!

If someone would post a pic of black headling that you be super!

Thanks

Thanks for the pictures!

I personally think the car will get a bit on the dark side for my liking, will reassess when i'm there on Monday.

May be tempted to have the headling done in the same leather as the seats.

Will keep you guys updated, and thanks again Fuzzer for the pics.

I've decided on having cream seats with cream alcantara headling! I was swaying towards black but have deciding against it.

The car has been pretty much completely stripped apart from the dashboard:

I've hit a few small delays on route, mainly a water leak on the seats! Otherwise its running on schedule!

Just need to source a repalcement electric blind, as mine is unrepairable!

I know its been a while since i updated this thread so here goes!

Its still not finished, delay has been due to a persistantly leaking front windscreen due to a **** up by RAC. Good news is that its fially been fixed and RAC have agreed to pay towards the cost of the new interior.

The trimming has all been done, just awaiting to put it back together, should be back on Friday, fingers crossed!

What do you reckon so far?? I've had a customisation done on the dashboard, top done in alcantara. Please note that the leather still needs to be heated and shrunk, its still in the unfinished state. This will be done once its put in the car.

And the reason you don't take the dash out is :

Wow! I'd be in tears if I saw my car looking like that - would scare the bejesus out of me:eek: :( :D

All credit to you  Can't wait to see the finished article.

Holy modding Batman!

That looks amazing! It will end up as the best SEC out there!

You should contact ME magazine when its finished to see if they will feature your car?

It would be far too an intersting article for ME magazine, don't be daft.

Having to whole interior stripped including dash is pretty scary. Quite a task to reassemble correctly I imagine.

Refitting is the reverse of removal :D

Leather trimmed dash looks amazing.

Go KLP!

Are you doing this yourself or is someone being paid to do it for you?

Looks like the car is going to be better than when it came off the production line 20 years ago! That would be a real dream for me, to restore my coupe to the way it would have been with zero miles ;)

Looking forward to your photos of the next stage

amazing , but nothing short of the dedication youve taken in previous projects. :)

good luck getting it back together :)

I've been helping with a few bits and bobs on it along with forum member aka$h. Woking is practically like a rat run for me, must have made 20+ visits in the last 2 months.

The car is being retrimmed by D Class Automotives in Woking, have to give them credit for the good work, i just give them the colours/design etc and they do the rest.

I'm really really happy with the results of the dashboard, the alcantara has made it look that something special!

Beleive it or not most interior parts are no longer available so practically every panel has been retrimmed or replaced, its a brand spanking new interior, inc new seat springs, bases, foam, cushions etc.

When this car is finished, it will be better than when it left the factory.

Looking good mate, impressed with the work on the dash.

Will definitely look unique when it's finished...

Im very jealous! SEC is my all time favourite and that car is probably going to be the best there is out there...

I told the guys, if your in doubt about anything just put a stitch line. I think that paid off :D.

It looks even better in the flesh!

I had a little play in a black 997 Turbo today ...... it had black suede headlining , looked and felt stunning , should be even better in a big coupe like the SEC ....
