I'm thinking of getting to MB ownership by way of a CLK320 Cabriolet to run as a third car (so low mileage). I've seen one privately with a few months warranty left, and was thinking about getting this with a Service Contract from my local dealer. I was wondering whether people felt these contracts were worth getting. My mileage is likely to be less than 10K a year. Sorry if this has been covered before but I didn't manage to find it. Any help gratefully received!!

Cant really offer any advice re Warranty issues but... as someone who has, within the past few weeks, just bought a CLK 320 Cabrio as a "spare" car I would whole heartedly recommend it. I also expect my mileage will be low, 3 or 4k per year, (90% of that with the roof down) and so far the comfortable feeling of just wafting along is pretty enjoyable and certainly feels classy :)

I have a 230k as a 3rd car (well, it's the mrs;) ) and she likes to have the roof down on days like today.

Welcome to the forum BTW.

Hey scoop,

Welcome to the club.. I'm in the same position as you CLK320 cab as a third car.. (even though I use it more than the others at the moment).

It's great in this weather - My roof never goes up..!!!:D

Enjoy

Welcome, I am about to get back into mb ownership and pick up my CLK320 (W208) cab on saturday, and really looking forward to it

As for the service contract, I believe you need to see what MB will offer, and then offset that against what you think you will need to spend to keep it maintained at a good Indy.

Have a search on this excellent forum under service plus, there is a lot of info, you could start with this thread along with the one Pammy mentioned
