Pull to the left

Hi all,

probably a very easy one for a sunday morning but I wonder if I can gather some opinions please...?

Since having my front pads, discs & track rod ends replaced I have noticed some uneven tyre wear on the outside edge of the fronts. I have had the alignment checked and adjusted twice now - which seems to have resolved the tyre wear but I still have a pull to the left. It's very slight but enough to annoy the hell out of me!!

Any ideas what else it could be - or is it still an alignment issue that I should have re checked again?

Thanks folks

Simon

The 203 is camber sensitive. There is a alignment sheet that dealers can work from but it can make the car handle a bit strange

So do you mean that the car could be fine but the road surface could be causing the pull (or I guess then more appropriately "drift")?

Yes.

Try it on a flat road. There are not many around though.

Who did the wheel alignment?

Did they make any castor or camber adjustments?

Will give that a shot.

Took it to the local boys at the Kwik Fit up the road - used to do all the work on my old Bank cars and they always gave me honest answers and have only ever done what is actually needed - a change from most of the branches! The guys up there love the car and have done quite a bit for free for me on both the merc and the mrs' fiesta.

Took it to them after the indie that did the brakes, disc and track ends didn't fill me with confidence and seemed to have more things that "needed work" every time I spoke to him. "Oh did I mention about the...." and "I told you that this might need looked at..."
Wouldn't go there for major works but KF are ok for small things.

I would not take your car to KF for wheel alignment.

Have they have ever adjusted the camber or castor before on a 203? (if it needs doing at all)

The bolts have to be replaced on some of the suspension arms to adjust the camber and castor. It is a tricky job and takes a few hours to do.

They probably did a tracking check not a full wheel alignment.

Car is due service and MOT on 16th by MB dealer under my service contract. What do you think it would cost to get them to check it out then?

Wheel alignment check is about an hour plus adjustments.

Thanks for the help mate.

Simon
