Hi

My service is due and the car is booked in at Brabus in Kent for Monday.
However, on my way home yesterday my oil light cam on, i checked the level and it is very low.

Question: Can I use Mobil 1, 5W 40 (have a can in the garage) to just top it up a little to safely drive it until monday or should I buy a litre of the oil that was used by the dealer last time...Dont think they used Mobil 1. Its is getting Mobil 1 again this time though.

Regards

Tan

Thanks for the replies guys.

I have another question, since in all but the last service Mobil 1 Oil was used, I have asked Brabus to put in Mobil 1. They are going to charge an extra £30 to do this. My question is which one to use is it 10W/40 (What ever that means). I guess that they will know but i'd also like to know so that I am sure that the best is being used, as the car gets driven daily and also can be "sportily" driven.

TIA

They are ripping you off charging you £30 extra for Mobil1, buy Mobil1 0w40 yourself (Costco £25 for 4 litres) take the oil to them and get them to use it and take off the cost of their oil.

Try and make sure they use your oil though, as I know a mechanic who would put in cheap stuff and bring the good stuff home for his car! Good luck.

you need more than 4 litres do an oil change with

They used Mobil 1, 0W40 today at a cost of £80, expensive I know, but didnt have the time to shop around. I know that the 0W40 is Mobil's top oil but MB recommend 10W40 what is the difference???
