Quite nice wheels

If I wanted to put these onto my SLK, would I need to do anything other than buy them put tyres on them and bolt them on ?

I.e, do I need spacers, upgraded calipers, wider wheel arches or anything ?

Also what would these do to ride quality ?

i doubt if they will fit onto your slk. I would imagine the seller means a facelift one.

Well, did you???

18"s on an SLK - ouch  :D

Nah thought better of it and I missed the deadline anyway - guess it was just not to be this time.

Just for my info though anyone, if I do go for 17s or 18s, will I need to worry about any other changes or can I just jack the car up and put them on and what will be the change to handling / ride quality ?

Cheers

the offset on those wheels was wrong for your car anyways , i don't care what the seller says.

et 40 odd doesnt fit onto the 202 series of cars.

e.g. previous c class , previous clk and previous slk, all based on the 202

youve just saved yourself a lot of trouble.

I'd agree with that - what's with these people and their 'one size fits all' approach, those wheels don't seem even nearly right for some of the models he listed as compatible!

Aren't they from a CL? So maybe fits older CLs and/or S-class cars, maybe SL, but surely not a straight fit onto SLK/CLK etc?

That's right. The offset was 1cm out. You need ET30 back and ET37 front ideally. ET35 will also work. ET46 will be inset into the arch about 1 cm and with that width will almost certainly screw your calipers or foul your suspension, You need to be very careful with non-standard wheels because even if the offsets etc are right the wheel design has to accommodate calipers.

Thanks guys, great info. I actually like my current wheels, so maybe next time I get frisky, I'll get them refurbed - unless I can find some nice turbines, cos I love them
