Anyone know where this should go to.

That master cylinder and pipe fitting doesn't look very healthy.

It doesn't look like it would be long enough but does look similar to the lose one I found on the other side.

Have a look at the grommet forward of the washer bottle on the inner wing. Is there a vacuum pipe going out with the cables to the headlamp? If not then that's your man.

Is there a vacuum reservoir inside the wing - maintains vacuum for six or seven operations of the central locking without restarting engine ( earlier models took vacuum from engine rather than relying on an electric pump ) .

The other end is already connected to something (some kind of cannister) so I'm going to suggest the end you have in your hand is the engine end. So, somewhere on the inlet manifold, or fitting connected to it.

From the picture the other end is connected to a solenoid valve[ see the electrical connection?] other s/v vacuum pipe is white. As Pontoneer says there is a vacuum reservoir under the wing thereabouts The yellow pipe single into twin/triple? yellow pipes via a rubber v/3way connector seems to possibly come from said under wing vacuum reservoir thro grommet in the inner wing.

PS
PURPLE YELLOW VACUUM COLOUR CODING IS OFTEN USED FOR HEADLIGHT ADJUSTMENT PIPING BUT THIS MIGHT BE A RED HERRING??

The yellow tube above goes to the vacuum reservoir, the white tube goes to the ignition distributor.

The first picture below shows the grommet in the lft wing just in front of the washer water tank, you can see a similarly coloured tube going through the grommet.

The picture at the bottom shows the other end of the yellow pipe going to the vacuum reservoir, its mounting seem to have completely rusted away.

I would appreciate if someone could have a look in their car to see where the tube in question goes to.

On the US models there is a vacuum line which retards the ignition under certain running conditions for emissions, so its possible the purple yellow pipe should be connected to a vacuum source of some description [ reservoir or manifold direct or thro other solenoid valves???] However its possible that this is not operative in a European model. Mercedes sometimes run vacuum pipes that don't have a function in some models. Is that termination a connector/blanking off piece/ inlet filter?

If nothing else , it is worth extending the pipe to its length and see what is in reach of it ; it will not be that particular length by accident , so it stands to reason that anything it ought to connect to will be at a certain radius , more or less ....

I checked the rubber piece, it is a connector rather than an end stop. When I tried to extend it it snapped as it was too brittle.
