r107 heater controls

hi all.
is it me, or is it impossible to get a comfortable temperature set up on my 85' 500sl?
i can never fully stop heat coming out of the side vents.
also, i like warm feet and cold face.
v. difficult to set this up....

Simple answer, yes its impossible get a decent setting on the heater.

Closing the side vents to stop heat on your face, but this time of year I angle the vents to the windows to stop them steaming up.

In the summer I keep the settings on cold, because as soon as I try to get a small amount of heat, It is impossible to then stop the heat.

Its not the best control system.
