r129 Moss edition

Originality is king with special editions, and this one isn't.

Non original wheels, a rather dodgy looking exhaust and the line about being options from the dealer are pure fiction. Badged as a 600, mismatched number plate frames (the rear is wonky). Random AMG airbox (again, not original, but has value), but missing the cover in front of it. Incorrect bumpers (should be the earlier squarer ones), and I don't think it would have had Xenons either.

All combine to give the impression that a/the previous owner has been more about the bling than sympathetic enthusiast.

The red centres on the leather are looking pretty tired, definitely in need of recolouring. The drivers door lock isn't working, and there's no mention of service history. You can bet your life the Bonhams example was immaculate and with unshakeable provenance for that money.

Could be restored to full glory with a reasonable amount of work though.

Nick Mercedes has pretty much all you would need to put this right , he's just breaking a Silver Arrow and has the correct red interior for this too

If I was being cynical I would say that it had been in a front end prang resulting in the new lights bumpers and respray.
Although they do have quite a few other mercs judging from the pics so they may be an enthusiast after and the advert doesnt do the car justice.

The whole front end is new...the Mille Miglia was the pre facelift body. There is much doubt about this car.

WIDE BIRTH NEEDED !!! This is a very dodgy one as been on eBay many times and on the forum for discussion !!!! So much wrong and incorrect about it !!!!

Yup the vent panels behind the front wheels are post-facelift ones, fitted with Silver Arrow edition badges too. The car was originally advertised as a Silver Arrow

I cant believe none of you have noticed that the roll over bar is blue!

i'll wager it was a nice honest silver over blue 500sl to start, the red/black interior came later, along with the xenons, bumper, exhaust, carbon trim and everything else that shouldnt be there

Front top engine covers are missing too ..
