I'm looking at reshodding the car and have Pirelli P7's (fairly new) on the front and a P7 with a P6000 on the back. The P6000 is almost down to it's last bit of legal tread (the other P7 on the back was a replacement as the previous matching P6000 found flat and unrepairable one morning)

What I might do is take the remaining rear P7 off and stick it on the spare so that leaves me the chance to fit two new matching tyres on the back. So, the question is, what do you reckon is a decent tyre? I do like to get my foot down a bit, but want them to last as well, don't we all?

I remember reading some not so good reviews about the P7's and to be honest, I'm not that enamoured with them (plus they look a bit naff) Budget isn't a problem but value for money is.. Try another make? Anyone found anything cheap and amazing?

Hello mate ,

I'm just about to order some Falken FK452's for mine , they have had a good write up , seem to offer good value / performance , there are a few members on here that use them , and the Japanese car fraternity seem to like them ( and they like to hoof it a bit ;) )

Best / Cheapest place for them is a company called Camskill Performance ...

Have a look here :-

I've got Dunlop SP Sport 01 MO on mine now.

I looked at those but was told that Continental Sport Contact 2 is being replaced ... and the "3" is not available in "MO" specification yet.

The Falken 452's look good value at £69 a piece (plus fitting, valves etc), certainly cheaper than the P7's I have on now..

Might give my local fitters a ring and see if they can get them

Hi,
Tyres are a hard thing to purchase as there are so many out there with so many different specs.
Best thing to do is realistically think what your normal driving is going to be and buy accordingly.
Pirrellis are always expensive and dont last too long as they have a soft compound but grip really well.
I have most joy out of Michelins, dulops are ok too, but then having said that i have used Falkens on my mums car and they seem fine and at the price you cant go wrong.

Nice one Raj, I've come to the same conclusion with the Falkens. I don't really like the P7's and I've noticed the sly sods at the last place I went to put a V rated tyre on, not a W.. Not happy about that.

Update.. I'm getting some Dunlop Sport 9000 on the back tomorrow. They were cheaper than the Falkens and they look nice (yeah, yeah, I know) Will let you know how I get on with them.

edit: Paying £88 each for the Dunlops fitted etc, and done at the office. I was quoted £94 for the Falkens, which is a bit steep as you can get them for £69 (plus delivery, fitting etc) online.
