Lovely 1997 R129 SL600, in blue for £16,950. Not mine I hasten to add, but thought someone might be interested..

No mention of hardtop, but would presume it's there, and it's around the facelift but I can't tell on the interior shot. What do you think to the price? I would think £16k maybe a little less for cash, a lot of car for the money..

Yeah? I forgot to add, it has 65k miles. So what would you expect to pay? Considering the bottom is (or has already) dropped out of big engined motors due to the recession..

I know what I paid for mine (albeit a 500 with 96k miles), and it was half that, 9 months ago.

It is a facelift car. But the V12 is considerably more complicated than the V8 for little extra benefit - I wouldn't want one personally.

That car is also riding very high. Unless someone accidentally hit the 'raise' switch on the (standard) ADS before taking the photos, I'd be wary of suspension issues.

There's a low miles 98 black SL500 for 13k on a/trader surely that's better value

Some optimistic prices!

I was offered a 1998 CL500 for £8000 (24,000 miles, one owner - lived not far from me and I had left a note on his window at Xmas before I got my CL)

Anyways, now being retailed for £14995!

I cannot actually see why since 24,000, 54,000 and 74,000 miles in a properly maintained one is not going to make the slightest bit of difference and certainly not enough to warrant that price.

Just my opinion though

(I have temporarily replaced departed CL with a bonkers E38 750iL....happy to say that my dear wife misses the CL!)
