hi

my soft top and windows are in really good nick apart from a bit of stitching that has worn out by both side windows

the 2 pictures hopefully show the "damage" correctly.

i spoke with a local soft top repair shop and he said it would be a days work @£300 (not sure if this includes VAT or not) as it involves taking the soft top off the car, put it under the sewing machine and then putting it back on the car. it seems a bit excessive to me as i would have thought a small stitch like that could be done by hand (not that i have tried).

anyone know if this is a reasonable price to pay? it needs to be done as the gap is getting bigger ever year (last year it was only about 2 inches and now it is close to 3 to 4.

does anyone have any recommendations on repair shops for this kind of work in the Milton Keynes area

many thanks

That's the sort of price I've heard quoted for replacing all the plastic windows ... even if yours are in good nick now it might make sense to have that done, rather than just re-stitching.

£300 should cover the cost of replacing all 3 windows.
