R129 vs 6ft 8" male

hello hankering after a R129 convertible but would a man of 6ft 8 fit in one ?
probably not (shame )

I'm 6ft8 and I am comfortable in E class and above. I find the C too tight and I couldn't have anyone in the back. I sometimes drive my mums SLK and I look like a tit.

I'm 6 Foot 5 and I find it is "just enough" for me. However, it depends how you like to sit in the car. I prefer the far back approach as opposed to the close to the steering wheel position (If that makes sense).

I'm a relative midget at just 6' 1" but I still drive with the seat fully back! Must depend a bit on leg length etc. - see if you can find one to sit in.

It will also depend on your actual body shape. If you can fold up well you stand a chance. I'm 6'2 (maybe 6'3 just after the chiropractor's appointment!), but more torso than leg and *ahem* well built, and I fit ok.

The idiosyncrasy with the 129 is that the backrest position is forced to change depending on the position of the seat base (to avoid hitting the bulkhead). It's a case of finding the best compromise of base and backrest position to suit.

I'm 5ft 10 and have my driver's seat well forward .

My 8 yo son goes in the passenger side rear seat with my 6ft partner forward in her seat .

Works for us .
For all round comfort , our 500 SEL is best , but it isn't a sports car .

Mostly I'm on my own in mine , and it hasn't missed a beat in 50,000 miles .
