R170 Centre Armrest / Console

Hi - Sorry if someone has already covered this - I've had a look but can't see anything.

Does anyone know of someone who could supply a centre console (The bit with the handbrake and armrest) for a 2003 facelift R170 ? It's in pretty good condition except on the drivers side, where they've obviously caught it when putting the seatbelt on, numerous times. Its dark grey, but where the paint has come off it seems to be black underneath.

I'm sure the dealers would be able to provide one, but I'm also sure they will charge me handsomely for the privilage, so I'd like to check my options first

Also, is it possible to "recondition" these parts ?

Ebay is your best bet or dronsfields for used parts.

If its just chipped paint you can repaint or repair it thats what I did with mine.

Its relatively easy to do and it saves buying a replacement console.

The one on ebay seems to have damage to the armrest lid, but it's only £50.

From MB this item is £363.78 inclusive, but you can at least choose the colour you want!

Looking at it closely, the one on Ebay seems to have damage in the same place as mine.
I think the website for the paint might be my best bet as there isn't a scrape thats larger than 1cm square, hopefully I'll be able to touch it in with that - Thanks for your help everyone. Its greatly appreciated.

The paint used on interior parts on R170 SLKs is crap.
You need to touch it up from time to time, see here:
