Good morning everybody. Does anyone know if there is a procedure (other than trial and error) to adjust the boot lid latch?
When I got the car the boot soft close didn't work. I sealed up all the possibly leaky ports on the pneumatic unit (sticky on the MBWorld website - thank you to them), and everything was fine.
However, after a few months, when releasing the boot lid with either the key or the remote release in the car, about half the time it would release and pop up, but the latch was still slightly engaged and would need a second press to release fully. The soft close was perfect. I tried adjusting the latch position in the boot lid, but never quite got it right.
When I was replacing the front left ABC sensor link rod, the car sat for a few days with that corner jacked up while I was waiting for the part. It looks as though something may have shifted ever so slightly, because now the boot releases perfectly every time, but the soft close doesn't work...
Any ideas, folks? Please help; it's annoying...:
