R231 2012 sl 350 reading lights broken

hi my wife’s sl 350 r231 2012 reading and vanity lights aren’t working I’m not sure if they did tbh , she thinks they did , I’ve changed fuse 18 no good , the windscreen looks like it’s been changed by a previous owner , anyone had any thing similar ?
