Radar Detector

Are we talking about a car or a motorway ? :)
Its ok mate it was an incident that we had discussed some time ago, was just asking the outcome.

rocky mountain

Hiya, 'my pal's' got a 'rocky mountain' detector/jammer that he picked up in the states. he's found that its really good at picking up traffic lights :( That said I'm pretty sure its saved him from at least one fine from the dreaded mobile camera van!:o The bonus is that it doesn't say anywhere on the unit that it has a jammer in it, it just looks like your regular detector,I think its also got the VG2 anti detector dectector on it.
Another pal of mine who works in France says they have very draconian rules on the subject, huge fines and an impounded car if you're caught with one!
Kris.

But Fuzzer, doesnt the Valentine drive you mad with false alarms? mine did although I did keep it for 2 years till I traded it for a B2 (& laser jammer which I only use for ornemental purposes )

Nah , i quite like still having both. IVe had a radar detector since '99 now and im kinda used to muting it. keeps me on my toes :)

I have got Road Angel and it does both, you can fit an extention radar detector ib fron grill for best results, it is also upgradable via the net.

Can you really have an external radar unit for the Raod Angel? I bought the Snooper because at the time at least it was the only one available with a separate detector as all others were built in.

Do any of these systems have the locations of cameras that record your average speed over a set distance, I believe they are usually spaced at least a mile or more apart?

Yes all the GPS based systems have the SPECS cameras listed.

Hi There,
What's the best radar detector for my W211? I do M4 motorway miles and want to protect myself....What's the best protection currently available?
Thanks for your help!
Paul
Not wishing to be a killjoy but, the best protection is to SLOW DOWN.
You won't get nicked if you stick to the speed limits.

I drive over 30,000 miles a year, there is no way I know where all the speed cameras are. I am not a slave to speed limits, I drive at speeds appropriate for the road and conditions. Sometimes this means I am going faster than the limit so it's nice to know where the cameras are.

I am not an advocate of flagrantly disregarding speed limits, BUT I am angry at the citing of revenue collecting speed camera's that are simply located where they will generate maximum income. Any authority that has these camera's should be prosecuted for failing to take satisfactory action in getting the speeds down!! As clearly the camera is not reducung drivers speeds.

If I were anarchy, I would certainly have the best devices available, but hopefully I would comply with 'most' :o ;) speed limits. Definitely those located where pedestrians are vunerable.

In my mind, there is a huge difference between a little over the limit and 40 in a 30 past a school. Whenever I stray above the limit, it's on a motorway or dual-c.

I have a b2 fitted professionally in my 211, very nice unit, works extremely well.

i thought id post some pickies of the install i did in the X5 ULTRA neat install.

Radar detector cable hidden in the rain sensor housing as well as the GPS antenna in there too. Only cables showing are very short and sweet.

;) Steady on old cheeky chappie, I'm on your side. ;) No way have I intimated\suggested that you or I would ever dream of doing such a thing. Sorry if my post even hinted at that :o
