Rear View Mirror Rattle

Anyone had a problem getting their rear view mirror changed under warranty?
I've had a rattle that comes and goes for a couple of months now, putting a finger on the mirror stops it.

Problem is, if I take it to MB and it does not make a noise, will they take my word for it?

Probably not, phone them and ask them. If they find nowt wrong with it, you'll be charged for the time in the non diagnosis IIRC. Well this was BMWs practice.

When I phoned them they said they had never heard of a rattle from the mirror, but I've read a few threads where others have had the same problem. I'm not sure if any of them got replaced under warranty though? It's booked in for the middle of December.

Bash it a few times so its knackered, then they have to replace it
