Reduction in main dealer service pricing

Prices have indeed been reduced for some cars but they are still double for an AMG... I really don't understand, how is it different to change oil for a C300 Vs a C43 AMG. Why doing a service A worth double the cost and on which universe an oil and filter change are worth £1k? (the current quote I am getting)

Something to note. MB Dartford recently changed ownership from MB owned to Hedin, we have had a change up for our parts supply from the Dartford branch, they are definitely making changes.

That said 250 odd is cheap for a 722.9. We are 290 for a full change in TC and oil/parts haven't got any cheaper recently!

As you know £139 at mb guildford, no dealer charges £1k for just an oil and filter change - send proof.

I’m fairly confident that there will be other additional service items - which are age and/or mileage dependent - included in the quote beyond the oil & filter.

If the quote doesn’t include a breakdown then ask for one or post your registration number or VIN number and a member will explain what’s due for you.

What proof do you need? Check the other thread I started on service plans to see your proof and get off your high horse.

Did the quote include any additional service items like spark plugs, automatic transmission fluid change, brake fluid, combination filter, etc?

£1k is multiples more than a straight A service, or “oil & filter” service.

So you’re actually referring to a service plan doubling in cost. Your post in this thread (below) referred to Service A oil & filter and not a service plan.

Service plans are more expensive than a Service A because they include (one or two) Service B and additional age and mileage related items.

OK, then based on their prices service B is £1500 and service A is £500. Does it feel better now?

It depends which additional age and mileage related service items are due, but that could either be a little more than you need to pay or quite a saving.

To know whether it’s a good deal for you then you need to understand which items will be due for your car during the period of the service plan.

If ypu are unsure how to do that then post your model, year, current mileage and expected annual mileage and someone will be sure to lend a hand.

So you cannot provide evidence of an A service only for £1k, i thought as much, have a good weekend slim.

Main dealer quotes have recently reduced

MB Dartford were quoting £1085 for a B service with brake fluid and gearbox service, received a quote today for £930

Lakeside quote was £685 and today it is £602

£226 for the gearbox service is very good value, a local gearbox indie quoted £460.

My Indy charged me £80+VAT for a brake fluid change at 160k (after me saying, that I knew that it is recommend but that I did not want it... and then telling me the wheel bearing need adjusted.. but didn't do it!!... very pissed off - given how easy it would have been to fix when they seen it!

Is MB Dartford a Lookers? I had body repairs done at MB Lakeside and they charged my insurance company for a new bumper and repaired the original which cracked\crazed a few years later and they also refused to put the FFP back on... I never went back!!.😊😊

Great price.
Is this MB Lakeside? (Lookers)... are you getting it serviced too? (I need an A a service and MOT I would add an Trans service at that price)

No not lookers

Who owns Mercedes Dartford?

Hedin Mobility Group seals deal to buy four dealerships from ...

The deal, likely to be worth several million pounds, sees Hedin assume responsibility for operations at sites in Brooklands, Dartford, Croydon and West Bromley. The dealerships become the first UK showrooms to be fully owned by Hedin Mobility and employ around 360 people between them.24 Nov 2022.

That quote is mb southend but lakeside will match it as owned by the same dealer group - jardine

Only having the atf service from them as i have just had the oil and brake service done elsewhere.

The backlog’s clearing.

I booked mine in for an insignificant manufacturer’s recall at MB Weybridge after Christmas. Was astonished when they said “Day after tomorrow, Sir?”
Was that the sunroof recall? If so, how was the experience at MB Weybridge?
