Is there anybody that does relay repairs ? I have a w123 fuel pump relay that suddenly failed, I managed to get a second hand one from Germany and all is good but would like to have one as a spare. any recommendations please ?
I have had it looked at by an electrician he said all the resistors were good and diode and suggested it may be a chip that has failed.

A lot depends whether the chip is a commercially-available chip (most likely option) or a bespoke chip made specially for this MB component.
I can't see why even MB would go down the latter route.
Is there an identification number on the chip ?
Is there only one chip ?

Part # of the relay you're looking for would be helpful.

yes sorry, 001 545 0705,
The chip on the board is a Phillips chip no. HEF 4538 BT which seem to be quite common but matching the other numbers on it is more difficult, those being 605600D and HSS8910

I have found a firm in the Netherlands that do repairs on many items including relays. They are called 'ecu repair centre', I have sent the relay to them and I will re-post back results.

I had problems with a comfort control relay with similar-looking relays inside.

Cleaned the contacts with contact cleaner and problem solved. The windows and roof now shut by clicking the remote control.

This on a '91 W124.

The HEF4538 is an inexpensive, commercially-available, integrated circuit "chip" that can be sourced from many suppliers for a few pence.
The other numbers are irrelevant - Probably manufacturing batch numbers.
My usual supplier for this sort of thing is Farnell Electronic Components in Leeds.
