I need to move the filter to make some more space on the intake side. Anybody with a clever idea what would the set-up look like and what is needed? Thanks.

!Going to do the same thing shortly for my itb swap. The easiest way is to use the oil filter housing from the m103, then fit an adaptor plate on top of that with lines going to a remote filter.
!
To fully understand this...
The first pic is the M103 oil filter housing w/filter, right (?), but is the second pic a M104 featuring a relocated M103 oil filter housing (the blue one) or...is it featuring a set of nice ITB's?
Btw, really nice package, what is the motor set-up?
I checked with Matt (the shop) and these will suit my engine as long as the housing has a M20 thread for the oil filter.Use the m103 housing but fit something like this: MOCAL REMOTE OIL FILTER KIT HONDA SUBARU MAZDA PORSCHE M20 3/4UNF M18 13/16 RFK6 | eBay instead of the oil filter. That way the oil filter can be mounted anywhere you like, giving plenty of room around the inlet manifold and it dosen't come any higher than the top of the block.
Many thanks for this informationThe arrow is pointing at the oil cooler, that is the later water to oil type in the picture. Earlier engines had a separate air to oil cooler mounted behind the front bumper instead, but they tend to get covered in dirt too easily.
Using the m103 oil filter housing gives you 2 options.
Option 1 is to use the water to oil cooler from the m103 engine, which can be joined to the existing coolant pipes.
Option 2 is to fit an "in line" air to oil cooler in front of the engine coolant radiator, and connect it to the remote oil filter pipes. You would need to block off the coolant pipes that used to go to the m104 oil cooler though (very easy to do).
Engine oil coolerNo problem, let me know how you get on.
Was that a gearbox oil cooler or an engine oil cooler? If it was an engine oil cooler, half the job is done already.
Thread in the cooler is male M22 and Mocal fittings are 1/2 BSP. Also, a bolt on M22 female push lock fitting seems to be a scarce item
Does anybody have a solution for this?
Thanks, this is it!Try these fitted between your cooler and the mocal fitting: Hydraulic Adaptor 1/2"BSP male - M22 female | S.11978 | Malpasonline.co.uk
These are the (original?) hoses I pulled off the M114 oil filter housing.
Should I remove the original fittings from these hoses and use them rather than use a M22 female adaptor to 1/2 BSP male to plug in the Mocal fittings to be sealed with eg. Locktite ?
Shown here Mocal 1/2 BSP male-to-male, M22 original MB fitting to Argus 5/71 and Mocal 90 degree 1/2 BSP.
It's smaller, unfortunately forgot to measure it while at the garage. What fitting is on the other end of the merc pipes? Is it m22 as well or smaller?
