Some idiot hit my front wing yesterday and then drove off, i didnt get his number plate and i dont really want to effect 4 years of NCB. I want to have a go at pushing the dent out myself, failing this its off to a bodyshop. It looks like a dent which should push out, but ive never done anything like this on a CLK, only on a 190E years ago.

The dent is next to the headlamp, could it be accessed without removing the front wing?

Any help would be GREAT!

Cheers

Hi,

Sorry to her about ur misfortune...

Where abouts on the front wing is the dent ?

Why don`t u contact dent master/wizard for a free no obligation quote/assessment – they may perhaps be able to remove the dent through their technique without having to remove the wing/panel (providing that they are able to access the dent from the inside of the wing… ur looking at £75 (ish….) -What model do u have ?

I personally would be reluctant to undertake such a task on my own…. But if ur confident enough to do it then have ago….

Good luck – keep us all updated…

Ive got a CLK W208, I just want to have a go at it, only problem is that the removal of the wing does not seem no wehre near as easy as on a 190E, i shouldnt be too suprised!

I need to know if i can get the wing off with out removing the bumper.

Wheer are the bolt locations?

Should i get one of those guides on ebay?

If you do decide to have a go urself then be extra careful that u do not split/crack the piant whilst tapping the dent out....

As previously mentioned, leave it to an expert i.e. dent wizards etc. I, in a former employment, looked after the body work of a fleet of Mercedes and believe me taking a dint out without affecting either the paint or inner protection (underseal of anti corrosive paint) is not for the faint hearted.

If I remember right what ur supposed to do before you knock the dent out is warm the area with a heat gun to make the paint softer so it doesn't crack when you hit the back of the dent!

Thanks for the advice guys, appriciate it!
I had a proper look earlier, and i dont need to take the wing off, as the inner arch panel has an opening where the dent is, lucky? maybe?

So all i need to do is get the head light off, ive searched on here for detail, found stuff for a w210, but not a w208, does the front bumper have to come off?

If it does, how do i do this?

Cheers Guys!
