I have decided on my next mod!

I was going to weld a set of twin stainless steel tips onto my exhaust, not a bodge job but a proper proffesional looking job.

Then I thought well I might as well do it properly and get a sports exhaust. (stop laughing, yes it's a diesel estate :D ) The only decent one I can find is the Remus one, now the diesel exhaust system is totally different to petrol models so a C280 one won't fit without much use of a hot hammer.

I have contacted Mercedes Performance and Remus direct, the service from both is appalling, does anybody know of a decent stockist or who the UK distributor is?

Failing this, anybody know of a decent sports exhaust system for an MB diesel? Evidently they dont need so much silencing as petrols becuase of the turbo.

Some joker quoted me £699 for a custom made rear box. Thats more than a genuine AMG one!

"Motion Styling" in Bradford quoted me £250 for a custom made stainless box to fit a c230k, with amg style tailpipes if wanted. They said they had made one for a w202 only a week or two earlier and it sounded great.

jimmy, speak to my mate Alan at A&S wheels and tyres, he should be able to sort you out, PM me for the number.

i had a remus back box on my 3 series twin 3" tips, took a while before it wore in but sounded nice, not loud at all but had the roar on high revs.

I have a friend in Austria if you want me to get them to speak to Remus for you.

Personally, I like the Remus pipes, good quality and good value too.

Perserverence paid off! It took 7 emails and 4 faxes before I got a reply. I have managed to find out that Remus have ceased production for my particular model but through some work contacts I have found one of the last batch of 5 that were made and it now has my name on it. I think it is in Austria or Germany and it will take 7-10 days to get here.

Heard some good reports about them so it will be interesting to see what it will be like on a TD, should free up a few more bhp, can't think what it would sound like.

I know a bit about Remus  Boy did it sound good :D
