Hi all, do I have any option other than going to MB for a new key? I lost one of mine last year and as it hasn't turned up I'm resigned to having to buy a replacement.

But I did this a few years ago for the C43 and by memory the dealer charged £200+

Thoughts?

PS no I am not going to buy the £25 one in the other thread, thanks.....

I don't think theres much option..

I 'think' there is another thread about a bloke and his laptop turning up at your house and he can reprogram keys... not sure I would want that, and from memory still £150 or so?

Think its dealer only :(

Was not there a member that could do the keys

Doesn't ring a bell with me - but hopefully they'll show up and charge me £50 :-)

Annoyingly it was the key with the chrome side casing - I rather liked it :-(

There are several threads on here regarding replacement keys and among them is one for a company in London who one of the members used. Sorry I can't remember who either were. Maybe if you search for Spare key / Replacement key / Lost key it will find it.

I recently bought one from a main stealer for my C Class and the going rate now is £227 inc VAT. You will need V5, ID (Driving Licence / Passport) Utility Bill (and they may need to see the car (they didn't in my case, unless he snuck out while I was waiting at the counter)). Took 5 days for it to arrive and it arrives with them in two separate parts and two separate deliveries, blade and fob.

I tried to get one from a guy in Birmingham who was also recommended on a forum here, but every time I rang his phone went onto answerphone and I'm still waiting for him to ring me back :wallbash:

I got one made a few montrhs ago at £227 also.
The dealer is the best way ....this time

dealer is your best bet, at least it will be a brand new key with some kind of warranty unlike a copied key which has had chips reprogrammed etc, really not worth the hassle to save £70-80 !

Thanks DW, Gumpy, HB, Alps,

Off to MB Park Royal it is then......
