Hi
Pretty new to this and mercs but was wondering if anyone can advise further on the replacement of the Audio20 system in the W209 ( facelift version ) car is CLK200 ( 2006 reg ).

Ideally I want a new head unit that has DVD and especially Bluetooth so I can connect iPhone.

This sort of unit JVC KW-R600BT | Car Audio Direct or Mercedes Benz CLK W209 DVD GPS Player With Tmc would do but need to know if it would fit after taking the audio20 out and if the steering controls would still work etc.

Your help please !

You can out the head unit. They both should work, you would need a adapter to convert from the exisiting wiring to new head unit (not totalliy necessarry, but can help with steering wheel control still workin).

MERCEDES A B C R Class, Sprinter Steering Wheel Stalk Control Adaptor CTSMC001 | eBay

That's what I used in the end. The second model you listed looks fake to me. The real ones are around the same price but have HDD base GPS and memory card slot above CD drive.

Personally have an alpine unit which has served me well. Better than the standard audio 20, only problem is you will lose the display in your instrument cluster but skipping tracks should work for non mercedes head units, otherwise display will work with official units.

Thanks DenniZ

Dont suppose you have a link for the real ones that have the HDD base GPS and memory card slots please ?

I am after one that would fit exaclty into the slot after taking the audio20 out.

Many Thanks

Search for my thread "W209 stereo upgrade"

I fitted a pioneer double din unit with every bell and whistle and had the steering wheel controls working.

You will need something like this Mercedes Comand APS NTG2 W209 CLK CLASS Sat Nav Navigation System DVD V15 2014 | eBay

Looks like NTG2, NTG2.5 (newer one post 2012 I think) was not added to clk because they stopped making CLKs I guess.

Make sure you can see the unit functioning, it should look similar to mercedes style, some have the same fascia but different hardware/fake/better depends how you look at it.

The NTG2 is a bit old now, DVD based navigation and ipod/bluetooth will need additional plugins.

Might be better going for a non OEM option, the steering wheel controls should still work and it hsould have USB/bluetooth built in.

I have an alpine headunit which is ok, but not amazing. But did more than the official option. iPod Sat nav, bluetooth etc.

Try here if you want OEM version.http://www.commandonline.co.uk/

Yes, it will fit, any unit you fit will need some sort of adapter.

Obviously you need the fascia trim for a double din unit and you'll need an adapter for the steering wheel controls and probably an adapter for the main wiring.

My car was an early one so I didn't have MOST. Your car should have MOST and will need the appropriate adapters.
