replacing dashboard speedo&clock w203

Hi guys,I've got 2002 C220 CDI auto W203, I was thinking to replace my speedo&clock with one from 2005 which in my eyes looks better do you have any idea if this is going to work ? thanks

hi i think that from model year 2000 the ign switch (eis) has milage retention which means the vehicle milage is stored in the instrument cluster and also the ign switch so if you put one in from another vehicle it should adopt the higher milage of the two vehicles or just go to ---- and not read anything,
so i dont think they are interchagable

Sorry, not helpfull re: your question but Ive never liked the facelift dash cluster on the W203, it looks like it was made in a hurry with generic details. Id keep the orignal myself...

The facelift & pre-facelift cluster is not interchangable unless you change all the electrical peripherals across the whole dash as they use different communication systems (pre-faclift = D2B, facelift= MOST). A big & expensive job & certainly one for experts ( Sunil/ Sunman & Miro on this forum have done so)
