Hi,
I'm keen on replacing the wood trim interior on my CLK Cab with Carbon or black trim.
Does anyone know where I can buy the replacement trim from?

I've tried searching the web and found nothing yet.

Cheers,
Ryan

MB Dealer only really for a full trim set.

+ Expensive. Will prob cost near to £2k for the whole set i reckon

 For £2k I think I'll learn to live with the wood.

Ryan

i was quoted almost £200 for wood ytrim ash-tray for my CLK, so i assume for all the trim, door panels, gearshift, windscreen panels etc total price would be getting onto £2k. Might be worth checking at a $tealer tho

As far as i know only the horrible "sport" faux carbon trim is the only carbon available for the clk... best avoided imho!

much better changing to the dark ash wood found on aventgarde models.

Try to find someone who wants the burr walnut trim & swap!!

Each wood panel is about £150ish!

The cheapo plastic aka "faux-carbon" in my w202 and other models is only a 3rd of that price though.

EDIT: a high quality film if applied well (maybe with clear lacquer over the top?) might look good and will be a lot cheaper, but probably a lot of work to look perfect. I've not seen a bird's-eye maple trim yet though :(

Don't do it!

Wood trim is a million miles nicer than that plasticky shit!
I beg to differ!

The foliatec stuff can look very good if applied carefully, much better in fact than dull, uncared-for genuine wood trim.

Probably looks better than the cheapo plastic junk my car came with from the factory anyway ;)

Mercedes veneer has never really looked that good compared to other manufacturers. That said the faux-carbon is even worse. I got a quote for a replacement birdseye maple surround for the armrest in my car - £1200 + VAT!

Try Steve at MBenzNL (www.mbenznl.com) he has a wide range of MB parts and mods and quite often has sets of interior trim (including Designo). His website doesn't get updated much but mail him using the contact details on their site. He's based in Holland (near the German border) but will ship to the UK.

Just came across this site on ebay.com (U.S site) 10 mins ago then read your post:

I know the model is different but I read somewhere that they laser cut the trim.... might be worthwhile asking if they do it for yours.

P.S. I am also not a fan of the wood trims. Sat in a very nice SL500 last week.... top piece of engineering only let down in my opinion by the wood interior. Others however will undoubtedly have preference for wood otherwise it wouldnt be there in the first place!
