Requests for spares etc

I know I am new to this forums so forgive me for being so moany but wouldn't it be better if people are looking for spare parts etc they add as much info to the posts such as part numbers, baumusters (first six of the vin number), model, year etc?

Just asking for a part for a W203 or W211 is not really a lot of help.

Welcome to the forum. Now to answer your question.

Sometimes it is possible but sometimes it is not. On some modifications a complete part number is all you need as some cars (like mine for example) did not have the options fitted, although they were available for the car at the time. If my VIN were supplied the stealer would more often than not say no as the VIN would show just a basic spec. If you do a search, where HOWTOs have been done there have been part numbers supplied. This is also the case where modifications have been done but are not in the HOWTO section.

Certain modifications which were available to one model type exclusively can also be done across the MB range and so (though stealers would advise you otherwise) there would not be a VIN number available but part numbers would.
