Residual Heat = retrofit?

Stationnary heater = engine block heater. Don't know about the residual heat one though.

If they were the same I would not have listed them individually.

The engine block heater system and REST are both included in the stationary heater system although the parts are different.

REST expensive to add?

don't know - is it a specialist job?

nope , not for a while now ... 2003 facelift i think.

Crikey, MB really are cost cutting arent they?

My father has just bought a 2006 E320CDi (the 3litre one:confused: ) and it has a fair few bits and features missing that were standard on his previous car. Not too happy about it either!!

Am I right in saying that all REST does is run the fan at setting 1 for 30 minutes, that's what it appears to do in my car, if we're talking about the same thing.

Only use I can think of for REST is if you're into hanging around car parks late at night

Erm, Shude?
Think about it!

You press the button, get out of the car, do some shopping and then when you return to the car (hopefully no later than 30 minutes after you left it) the interior is still cozy and warm. I defy anyone to find a problem with that!

By George you're right - never even crossed my mind! Oh dear must I have a dirty mind. Sorry about that.

Useful taxi feature I guess. Goes hand in hand with the good turning circle.

Taxis never turn the engines off. Ever. So the feature would never be used by them would it? :)
