Hi guys

I'm not a great DIYer so I've got 2 quotes from a local specialist in Bexley, Kent.

£420 for reverse camera connected to command & £300 for the flush reverse park sensors colour coded etc.

Both prices include VAT and fitting.

What's the opinion from people with reverse cameras?

Well you could go for both, The work of running the cables to the HU will mean that the price will not necessary be the sum of both.

PDC will not always show you where any obstruction is where as a camera gives you an image -make sure its not a reversed image!

I used to live in Welling, and there is a place on Upper Wickham lane that did a super job for me and a reasonable price. They are called "Sounds Alarming LTD" You could get a quote from them also.

I have no connection to the shop or people other than as a previous customer, I no longer live in Welling or anywhere close to it.

Hi Marty

That's who my quotes are from. I think the camera price is very reasonable and I can't really find anyone much cheaper for the flush rear park sensors. I couldn't really afford to do both! I've had a good reference for the above company so will use them. But which to go for....

Camera on its own isnt as useful without sensors.

Get both for less than your lowest quote from Curt @ ProParkUK :thumb:

Hi Dave

Hi Dave

Really both for £300?!!

I rang a number on proparkuk this morning and spoke to a guy who said the flush parking sensors from cobra are expensive and the camera he fitted has a separate screen ie not connected to command.

Although I don't know if it was Curt I spoke to! Will try again tomorrow and see if I can speak to him.

Cheers

I was talking about Steelmate sensors - see bottom of this page: Rear Parking Sensors | Buzzer & LED Display | Fully Fitted

These are listed under 'OEM look' so I assumed that's what you're after.
Camera install should be about £80, maybe even less, hence the assumption that it'll be under £300 in total.

I bought [generic] sensors and camera before I knew about ProParkUK and Curt (in fact he was recommended by the seller of the sensors), he came and install them for me and done a brilliant job, I wish I had the whole kit from him, even though I have absolutely no problem with either the sensors or the camera - both work perfectly. In any case, I'm definitely getting my next car fitted by Curt, if it doesn't come with Parktronics etc ;)

I'm not sure why you would need rear sensors and a camera.

Our new Juke will have the camera and we were both able to park it easily with just a camera on a test drive...

I might try the camera with graduated lines via command first and then see if I the misses needs sensors. I like the look of the flush sensors tho!

my opinion would be go for both or if thats not doable then just the sensors . You can hear the sensors while stil looking where you are reversing into. not so with just a camera
