Extended warranty just about to run out and the reversing sensors stopped working. Took to Stratford upon Avon merc dealer who charged me 170 to look at it and then tell me it's not covered under the warranty as a bracket has broken. I asked how that was? Then I was told sarcastically well you park in a car park? It's been hit there! But if it had been hit the bumper would be damaged.

I am rather puzzled as to how a Broken Bracket can manifest itself into your Reversing Sensors not working, after shelling out £170 I would be asking for details! 🤔 ;)

Was the car purchased from them?

Id call them up and speak to the manager / ask for it to be escalated. - Take photos of the bumper at the area it apparently has been hit from.

If it wasn't an MB dealer you would suspect they'd simply 'forgotten' to register the warranty after you paid for it and just kept the money; that's far from rare at the lower end of the market, but I'm sure a main dealer would not do it.
