RH Top Daddys!! Your thoughts?

Not genuine, surely.

Yup, genuine AMG Aero I's from before they became part of Mercedes when it became ///AMG.

There are more sought after being pre Mercedes, W124 fitment at this ET.

Centre caps are non Mercedes standard size and are starting to become difficult to find.

I have a set of these for my 560 SEC (although they are ET11 which are more difficult to come by)

AMG did this wheel in both 'AMG' and '///AMG' logo...the later slash logo was introduced 1992 and was also pre-MB union.

Contrary to popular belief, '///AMG' items were made for the w126 and w124 etc.....i have a brochure of these at home...see below.

AMG Aero I wheels shuold have a machine polished lip...they should be powder coated and powder lacquered. Beware of cheap refurbs on ebay that have hand polished lips and non powder lacquered finishes. Below is a picture of what an Aero I wheel should look like properly refurbed.

Also note that the centre caps are near impossible to source on the early Aero I's...they are 50mm metal pieces held in by retainers from the rear side of the wheel. The later '///AMG' logo'd wheels take a standard 70mm MB cap.

In reference to the title of this post, Is it right for me to assume that these wheels were made by RH for AMG then ? ....

I have always thought that Aero 1's were very similar to RH Toplines...

Toplines look very bling when they are completely Diamond cut polished to include the face,...

The Aero I's were produced by AGG, at least that's what I've noticed on the back of every set I've handled. I think they were absorbed into another company during the 80's. This could have been ATS who produced the Penta for AMG but I could be wrong on that.

I think Talbir will have a bit more info on these.

RH make very similar wheels to AMG... I had RH toplines which are almost identical to AMG 3 piece before i actually found AMG ones.

Infact, RH is generally more popular in germany.

i doubt they ever made any wheels for AMG, but i wouldnt be surprised as it seems many different companies made wheels for them at some point.

RH are very well respected in Porsche circles.....
