I have just joined the Forum and am hoping to get something out of it as well as perhaps putting something in. I bought my SLK320 this summer when the weather was good and I had just returned to the UK from a 2 month trip to Venezuela. I was overjoyed with the level of style, performance, and sheer luxury of the wee beast! My girlfriend berated me for buying it at first but once we were out and about with the "panoramic roof" down she was as enthusiatic as I was. Hope to find like minded members to chat and exchange tips with etc.

You will find any number of like minded souls on here, me included. When you get round to it its customary to post a few pics of your new acquisition but I think you need 30+ posts to be able to do that. Anyways, welcome once again from a fellow SLK nut!

Just had an upgraded S 600 grille job done and must say I am delighted with the result. Compliments to CKS Performance for all their help and prompt service. Will definitely be doing more business with them.

Thanks for your kind welcome. I would like to have attached some pics of my baby but it seems that is only possible through a URL. I haven't really had enough time in the UK to fully appreciate her as I work all over the world and am away for 8 - 9 months of the year. Had some good trips out in her when the weather was good but have to see what she's like in the cold and miserable. What 'toys' are available for this model? Portzy says she has loads. Care to share the knowledge with me? RTB

The "toys" in my profile were the options, (loads!) that I ordered at build, I've done a few minor mods on her since though, different alloys, SL stubby aerial, chrome door pins, AMG bonnet fins etc.

Welcome Guy - You'll find this forum a friendly and useful place to be. And Venezuela, eh!? Beautiful country - spent some time in the hills around Caripe and then over in the Orinoco delta myself a few years ago. Quite an experience - it was just after Chavez had got in so the country was full of hope and optimism - at least the poorer folk were as they saw him a 'people's champion.' Very envious of your time out there - some great diving too!

Yeh. I was over in Maracay near Valencia working on a Pu foam machine. Loved the people (one more than was perhaps good for my UK relationship) and not too impressed with the weather as it rained a lot. Roads absolutely disgraceful but I wasn't driving so, no problem there. l would be pleased to share in the experiences that you had over there. I am going back for a three months working trip in a couple of weeks time if there is anyone you want me to deliver any messages to? Guyrichard

Aye- those Venezuelan chicas are something to behold, eh!?

Unfortunately, it was too long ago now that I've lost touch with my pals. It's sad but it happens! There was one chap I remember - an absolutely fantastic guy who took me all around the place and never asked for a penny - stayed with his family in a huge favela on the outskirts of Maturin and he was half Warau Indian so took me on a boat up the Orinoco for a day and a half to find a tribe who lived on the water - his distant family - and basically lived with them for a couple of weeks - hunting, fishing, the works. It was quite an experience! I remember his name - Carlos Luna - and was due to meet up with him in Europe as he had a Danish girlfriend who had bought him a ticket and got him a job at Legoland. I turned up at Legoland and they had his details, was due to work there but he never showed up! I always wonder what happened to him. Taught me a lot about the political state of the impoverished in that country and the conditions which foment revolutionary idelaism. Fascinating guy!

You're a lucky chap going back - I'm very envious!

Merco, things have not improved for the masses. The general conditions for them are still the same ever were, sadly. But, all said and done, there is a peaceful feeling about the place. I have never seen so many girls with modified mammaries in my life! Sort of lovely and disgusting all at once. There are lots of old North American V8 engines running over there in all sorts of vehicles. Fuel is still cheap but the pollution is terrible. Lets discuss some more? Guyrichard.

Nope, sorry to disappoint but that's Charlotte Church before she met Gavin and went all chavy, if I were to use an avatar that closest matches you'd have to imagine Phil Collins or maybe Danny Devito on a bad day lol!

If you don't have them, you could do a lot worse than the evolution pedal mod, do a search "SLK - evolution - pedal mod" there's loads of posts, part numbers and pictures. Also, have a look at this link, there are a good number of R170 bits and bobs in the SLK section plus loads of other models.

I got a bit carried away at the time so here goes:
