Runway Tyres.

"When the traffic comes to a halt suddenly on soaking roads, you have to hope that none of the cars around you is on Runway tyres – as they will still be going long after you have stopped. The Runways might look the part, with a tread pattern similar to the previous-generation Goodyear Eagle F1, but they certainly don’t perform like them.

The Enduros needed a fraction under eight metres more to stop than test winner Continental and were still doing 24mph when the German-shod car was at rest. If new labelling laws do nothing more than make tyres such as the Runway significantly improve, then they will have done their job. "

A white knuckle ride cheaper than a day at Alton Towers..Dunlop, Bridgestone and Michelin all lapped within tenths of one another, too. Dunlop’s great front-end grip made the car more tail-happy; the Michelin and Bridgestone were better balanced. Vredestein seems to have lost its touch as it was two seconds back, allowing the rear to slide too freely.

It was pressed hard by the directional Uniroyal and Sava – the latter was safe but lacked precision. Maxxis and Hankook struggled; the Drift lived up to its name with wild tail slides. Again, the Runway gave a white-knuckle ride – it trailed by five seconds, as the front end just didn’t want to turn.

I have just bought an E320 with Runway tyres fitted... The road noise is just about the worse I have ever heard. They are new with loads of tread. - I will have some fun with them then get rid of them asap.

Careful Tiger. Especially in the wet!! Thats an awfull lot of BHP going through some not very good rubber.

But do enjoy:thumb:.

Well it sounds like a minefied out there, I have had PS2s on my 275bhp 4WD TT for the last two years and absolutely love them but they seem to be discontinued and I need to replace all 4 on the TT and all 4 in the 450SL on the next month. Sounds like the super sport is the way to go.
