Hi

Just bought a S Class 2009 W221 ...

The steering wheel has the linguatronic button on it, but when i press it nothing happens.

Is linguatronic a standard feature on the S320CDI? if its not, can it be added as a retro fit? what would be to rough cost of doing this?

Thanks

It isn't standard on a pre-facelift. I've considered the same retrofit task for quite some time. I may not need it and use it a lot but it is a missing feature in my car...

I once looked at the wiring and it should be relatively straightforward, I cannot remember if the power harness is part of the main harness in the factory installation in which case one should use another harness and buy the plug separately (preferably for both ends to get the correct colour at the SAM). The microphone wiring would need to be routed to the VCM instead of the phone control unit and the whole most setup reconfigured.

For some reason I cannot find any price info even for the German language part (it could be the same part everywhere but flashed for the local language).

Let the forum know if you find more info or even complete the task.
