S Class Mercedes 2012 Amg edition
I have a mercedes w222 2014 one previous owner only former keeper bless him was elderly so car has never been driven much on motorway or in a harsh way. I took it for a blast local. Next morning it was shaking really bad in first and second gear happens everytime i blast it next day for first few gears it jerks soo bad any idea why?

Maybe you've frightened it? ;) :)

Perhaps the gearbox is due an oil and filter change? There is a lot of debate as to when it should be done, depending on the model and whether it's a 7G or 7G+, etc, but having done some research in readiness for doing mine (31,000 miles, 6 years old C200) one positive outcome is smoother gear changing from cold, at least the video I watched with a road test at the end did.

EDIT: Welcome to the forums too. :)

LMAO HAHAH gearbox was last serviced 9000 miles ago my friend checked with mb they said doesnt require? Other than drives amazing i had w221 was very good also but love the drive on this also just if i thrash it which i hardly ever do it jerks badly the next day. Thanks my friend

What is a "blast" in a W222 ? Just faster than the speed limit, officer? Or "Cat and Fiddle" Derbyshire stuff: lots of drop down acceleration and harsh braking?

Have you done an automatic transmission reset on the car?

If the previous owner was a drive to the shops and golf club type, it "may" have affected the settings, making the car more "cautious"

(It would help to understand whether you've had the car a couple of weeks or a couple of months, how much you've used it, and whether this "shuddering" is purely drivetrain shuddering).

Apologies if I'm teaching Grandma how to suck eggs here, but if you've driven the car "con brio" (What the S Koreans call "AMG style"), the learning gearbox will start giving you harsher (sport) gear changes, and will expect you to drive in a more "sports" style - until it decides that you aren't driving that way any more.

Lots of threads about resetting the transmission on YouTube and Google, not sure if it works or not but worth a try ?
Only true way to reset the adaptions is using Star I believe.

Hi mike iv only had the car 4 weeks mine is motorway millege usually i drive average hardly ever driven harsh ... i have done an automatic transmission reset yes

I'm waiting for the time when Ms Oldguy is told to wear a badge similar to the Halifax one, it can't be far off, since the whole basis on which the company was founded over a century ago was inclusivity (before the term was invented). Wouldn't like to be the person who tells her to wear such a badge though and fortunately she is in a position to politely decline:D.
Boy am I glad that I don't have to put up with the total rowlocks that goes on in large companies nowadays.

Your gearbox will be the 7G+.

Not true that it doesn't require. There was a period where MB were stating "sealed for life", but that was well before you car was made, and that meant a really short life for the gearbox and it was reverted.

Mercedes ESS advises 77500 miles / 5 year interval on the 7G+.

The adaptive gearbox might be causing an issue if you do drive it hard and then more sedately but I would also be starting with error codes assuming the gearbox service done 9k ago was done properly.

My indie alway resets the transmission adaptive learning at every service - makes a big difference.

Transmission mounts? or does it get back to normal after a run or once warmed up?
