S203 Tyre Sizes

Good evening all,

I have a S203 180K with the optional sports pack. I need to get four new tyres as the ones put on by the previous owner are cheap Chinesse imports that are not extra load bearing so have cracked and are leaking out air.

My question is two fold, what should the tyre sizes be as at the moment I have 225/45 R17 on the front and 245/40 R17 on the back. Should the profile not be the same?

Second, which tyres do you guys recommend. I have been looking at the Conti Sport contact 3's.

The profiles are a percentage of the width. Therefore to maintain a reasonably similar rolling radius, the wider tyre will have a lower profile. 101.25mm v 98mm sidewalls.

The tyres sizes are correct, assuming you have the staggered wheel setup. I've got the same size of tyres on my car. Contis are excellent and are OEM fitment too.

Tyres are on and what a difference. A lot less road noise and the car actually feels like it is on the road rather than rocking around.

Had Conti Sport Contact 3 fitted at the Dealership cheaper than Kwik Fit and I got the Car washed and Hoovered.
