After three months of soul searching, I'm putting my E55K estate up for sale and asking £7,500 due to mileage.
Key details below, I am still struggling to get decent photos of the interior and am somewhat disappointed with photos of the exterior - I don't think the poor light levels here recently have helped, I will try again tomorrow.
Same details on Ebay at
Mercedes E55 K AMG Estate (W211/S211) 7 seats LPG converted dual fuel car
First things first, whilst this is without doubt a special car, she is now 11 years old and has been my everyday car for the last 2 years. If you are looking for a showroom example, as much as she is a good clean car, she's not the one you are looking for.
I am using her on a weekly basis so mileage will increase and every time I go up the road she gets dirty - it's November people so I am just making clear what the reality is. If she was sitting in a showroom having been valeted, she would look glorious, I can't achieve that at the moment as I have to get to work.
To the details. 1 previous owner, currently with 147,700 miles on the clock – rising as I am still using as my daily driver, MOT to 31/5/16.
This is a tidy and well specified car which I have kept in good condition, but as stated, have been using as my daily driver. I got full service history with the car but little other paperwork and have been using a very good Mercedes independent specialist (Autotech) in Carlisle to do all the routine work and maintain the service history bang up to date.
I bought her in November 2013 and have in the last two years put 38,000 miles on her. This car is an amazing drive, you can waft gently along, load up and tour with the family or go ballistic on the open road and it does each of these with aplomb. I’ve had various turbo cars before but the supercharger and the V8 are a magic combination. I know people tune these, but I have found the quoted 467 bhp to be adequate and some.
Massive boot space, comfortable fully adjustable dynamic seats, heated front and rear (much to the kids delight!), cooled front seats, 4 zone climate control, superb Harmon Kardon sound system, sun roof etc etc. As far as I am aware, everything in this car works as it should.
Full car spec list of car as from Mercedes below – it has pretty much everything on the options list, the original tools, space saver spare, first aid kit and fire extinguisher are all present.
I don’t want to run this car into the ground, but whatever I have also has to be my daily driver – hence the LPG. It runs well on gas, but equally you can ignore that and run it on petrol if you prefer. So, it's time to change - if I could keep her for weekends and holidays I would but I already have a 4x4 for the serious weather and numerous 2-wheeled toys.
In the last two years I’ve done the following and have the associated paperwork in a file which will come with her.
Just had a D-service on 9th October at 146,624 miles, various suspension bushes and o/s/r lower arm replaced.
2 cracked wheels replaced with genuine/OE and others refurbished this year.
New disks and pads + wear sensors all round.
Arnott air springs on the rear, new Arnott front suspension units.
New windscreen in October 2014
Replaced auxiliary drive belts and idler pulleys
Heater control valve replaced
Quaife LSD fitted in July this year as prep for the winter.
Professional LPG conversion with certificate, twin vaporisers, torroidal tank in spare wheel well so no loss of boot space or impact to 7 seat ability. If you are not familiar with Lpg, the system switches to gas once engine temperature reaches approx 40c and switches back to petrol when gas level runs low.
