s211 e63 estate

I was negotiating on that very car barely a month ago, it was down at a trader in Aldershot for £16k, then £15,495. I offered £14k to take it "as is" but they said all they could knock off was maybe £100, £200 tops. One week later they'd dropped the price to £14,995...

It then disappeared from AT so I just though someone had bought it.

From memory the front discs and pads were nearly new but it had new mid-range tyres fitted to the front and tears were "roughly 4mm" which probably meant 3mm, which meant they wanted changing. I'd have replaced the full set with Continentals.

At £14,995 is that not a good deal?

I'd moved on by then.

I'm not one of these faffs who negotiate for a fortnight over £100, then start nitpicking, I like to strike a deal within 24 hours and be done with it.

Me too. Sometimes without even seeing the car...

Likewise. I'm the same. Still if it was at £14,995 originally it would of sold very quickly I'd imagine.

I was in two minds about going to look at this one at the weekend:

Used Mercedes-benz E Class Estate 6.2 E63 Amg 7g-tronic 5dr in Amersham, Buckinghamshire | Motor Store Ltd

However, doing a bit of digging suggests it hasn't been taxed since March, has failed some MOTs one sighting excessive play in the suspension and damage to a tyre wall, on top of that looking for reviews on the dealer themselves only returns one result which was pretty scathing. I also think the plate looks familiar which suggests I may have seen it for sale before.

That's ^^^ been for sale for at least six months, started out about £19k. They actually had two S211 E63's for sale at the start, the other was about £2k or £3k cheaper and it sold relatively quickly for one of these.

Am I alone in thinking that it's hard to justify £5k on top of what an E55K would be for the NA 6.2 engine?

I know it's a newer car but am I missing any major benefits performance/features wise?

Not at all but the facelift does look nicer in my opinion.

I'd rather they did a facelift 55k but they didn't for some reason.

Agreed, interior is much better on the E63 but I know some don't rate the engine over the 55, I'm on the lookout for a silver E63, but I think in all honesty a saloon would be better suited for me over an estate.

2007 07 PLATE Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG 6.2 7G-Tronic Estate in Black | eBay
seems a reasonable price for an 07 car although lots of miles.
Spec looks ok - although I can't work out what goes in the blanks by the heated seat switches. All I can think of that seems to be missing is the rear headrest drop switch.
And its not silver.
I believe the estate does not have the rear headrest drop switch and the facelift model got rid of the rear wiper switch. I think it's activated when you are reversing with the front wipers activated.

There is no headrest drop switch on my 2009 s211. Rear wiper switch is on the stalk.

Yes, the 2 wiper switches are missing. I have the headrest drop switch in my 04 estate but they may have removed them in the facelift.
There are 5 blank switches on the facia so I imagine there must be something to go there but I can't find any other cars for sale with anything in those spaces other than the headrest drop switch. Nature (and I imagine MB spec lists) abhors a vacuum!

Now it's back up to £16,995.00

It's E63 price roulette... :bannana:
