S212 Trunk carpet removal

Could anyone help me with how to remove the carpet below the floor of the trunk?
The car is a 300h estate and it has a nicely carpeted storage well below the trunk floor (and no spare wheel). It is to be removed if I need to change my AUX battery there. Does anyone have a service manual with the steps? I cannot see any obvious starting points there (heads of screws plastic plugs, etc ) to remove this lower carpet.
