s280 gear selection

hi guys, am hoping to look at an s280 1996 in the next couple of days . apparently when it warms up there is an intermittent problem with changing up but its fine when cold. is it likely to be anything more than atf. all views welcome

It sounds like it needs a new gearbox.

I'm not convinced changing the ATF will do much for it.

Is it a cheap car?

tes should be able to pick it up for about 1k. its spot on otherwise apparently. probably a silly question but would the box out of my e280 w124 1993 fit if neccessary.

Possibly.

You'd need to do comparasion based on the VINs of each car.

Have a good look at it though, as 140 aren't worth big money.

May be just a trivial fault though.
