I've just bought a 2001 S320 CDI with 115,000 miles. I've noticed a bit of a flat spot when accelerating from around 60mph up hills. I've just gone for a quick blast with the car at relatively low speeds and the acceleration from standstill seems fine. As far as I can tell the turbo is ok but I'd greatly appreciate any advise regarding which parts need replacing, am I right in thinking a MAF sensor could effect acceleration? I am hoping to get the job done at an indy.

Many thanks in advance

Doing 60 up a hill then accellerating will probably have a bit of a delay as the car will probably be in a high gear, i would expect a slight delay as the throttle is depressed then a down change, remember although you have a big diesel motor you also have a pretty heavy car.

I have the same problem on my s320 cdi 2003 40k miles, slow acceleration and bad get up and go , although no misfires . I'm going to change the air mass meter / sensor, they are not dear and always failing on audis and vw's. 10 minute job. :)
